Luno x the Sunshine Tour tee off a new era of golf

We’re excited to announce Luno teaming up and teeing off with South Africa’s prestigious Sunshine Tour.

The Sunshine Tour is a sparring ground for the world’s best golfers, and forms part of a series of events that make up the International Federation of PGA Tours. Each year, the Sunshine Tour holds over 30 tournaments across Southern Africa at spectacular venues like The Links at Fancourt, Gary Player Country Club, and Leopard Creek Country Club.

In a new way to play, the Sunshine Tour is taking inspiration from its sponsorship with Luno to make the competition more inclusive and level the playing field. For the upcoming 2022/23 season, the tour has moved away from the money-based order of merit to a points-based format called the Luno Order of Merit. And there’s plenty to play for…

The golfer topping the leaderboard at the end of the season will receive R500,000 in bitcoin, while the runner up will receive R200,000 in bitcoin, and the third-ranked can expect R100,000 in bitcoin.
