On your app, it’s a big month for new releases – we’ve got three new cryptocurrencies to add to the Luno app and passkeys are on their way to make your investing experience even more secure. 

What’s new?

Three new investing opportunities at your fingertips

You can now buy, store and explore Tron (TRX), Synthetix (SNX) and The Graph (GRT) with Luno. The Graph makes it easier for users to collect, store and analyse data from various blockchain networks while Tron aims to revolutionise digital content sharing and distribution without relying on centralised intermediaries. Synthetix allows real-world assets such as commodities, currencies and stocks to be tokenised and traded in a decentralised way. To invest, make sure you’re using the latest version of the Luno app. 

Log in to Luno using your face or fingerprint

Passkeys are a new way to sign in to apps and websites. They’re faster, easier, and more secure than passwords. Unlike passwords, passkeys are also phishing-resistant.​

Once you’ve set up a passkey, you’ll be able to log in to your Luno account using your face, fingerprint, or screen lock associated with your device instead of entering a username and password. Go to Profile > Security and tap the Passkey toggle to set up yours.

You’ll now find it easier to compare investment opportunities with coin categories, which let you filter different cryptocurrencies by their use cases – whether it’s the exciting world of DeFi you’re looking to invest in, AI or more. 

What’s coming?

A new crypto duo are set to  join the Luno lineup, NEAR and FTM

You’ll soon have two more cryptocurrencies to add to your collection – NEAR Protocol (NEAR) and Fantom (FTM). NEAR is a decentralised base layer where developers can launch dApps and Fantom is a smart contract cryptocurrency platform with a focus on speed and scalability. Make sure you’re using the latest version of the mobile app to see these new cryptocurrencies.
