The story
According to a report published by Grayscale Investments, a digital currency investing and cryptocurrency asset management company, over a quarter (26%) of American households own Bitcoin.
Of the group surveyed, 46% also hold Ethereum in their wallets. Furthermore, three quarters of the participants said they would gain exposure to Bitcoin through an exchange-traded fund (ETF) given the opportunity.
The survey featured 1,000 respondents aged 25 to 64, and each had at least $10,000 in investable assets, and at least $50,000 in household income. When considering digital asset investments, most respondents make use of a traditional self-brokerage or use industry professionals. Yet the percentage of those who use a financial advisor for crypto exposure has fallen from 30% in 2020 to just 11% this year.
As for investment planning, over 50% of the participants noted that they perceive Bitcoin as a long-term investment which forms part of a diverse portfolio.
To top it off, 91% of Grayscale’s survey respondents said they’re up on their BTC investments.
