You’ll love the new Luno – be the first to try it
A beta experience
Today, we’re unveiling the new Luno through our early access beta programme. We’ve put in a lot of careful consideration about how best to connect our customers to cryptocurrency in the easiest and safest way possible.
We’re so excited to share this with you!
What’s changing?
A new look and feel
We’ve incorporated modern design trends that make sense for our brand. Our space-inspired theme is maintained while ensuring that all the new illustrations and animations are light, playful and immediately relatable to our customers around the globe.
A better home
We’ve reimagined our home screen to be better aligned with how our customers interact with us. You can now easily see the price and a basic graph as soon as you open the app, swap between cryptocurrencies and buy crypto right from the home screen. For all the cryptocurrency traders out there, you can set the exchange as your home screen on the app and on web from your profile settings.
New navigation
It’s now easier to find what you’re looking for. Our new bottom navigation bar has five landing screens, from which you can easily and efficiently explore different sections of the Luno app.
Coming on board
We believe one of the most important aspects of this new financial system is being empowered to make your own sound financial decisions, which always begins with a healthy dose of research. If you’re new to crypto and to Luno, you can now freely explore our app without having to sign up first.
Luno Explore
This is a completely new space in the navigation menu that displays curated content from various sources alongside our Luno blog so you can learn more about crypto and stay informed about the latest industry news. It’s now even easier to learn about cryptocurrency within the Luno app without having to sign in or sign up.
We’d love your feedback
So, are you ready to try out the new Luno experience? If you already have a Luno account you can opt in through our beta programme. As a beta tester, you’ll be able to use features that haven’t yet been released to all of our customers, as well as provide feedback via a brief survey in the new Explore section of our app. Please note that the beta version of the Luno app is only available in English. As this is a beta version, it’s possible we’re still ironing out any kinks. If you experience any issues with the beta version, you can easily revert back to the previous version of the Luno app. These steps are outlined below.
This is a chance for you, our customers, to test new features and provide us with valuable feedback about what you think of the new Luno. Here’s how to get it:

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I leave the beta programme?
- iOS: To return to the regular version of the Luno app, simply delete the beta app and download the latest version of the Luno app from the App Store.
- Desktop or mobile web: Go back to the old Luno by following this link and toggling beta to off.
- Android: Leave the beta programme by following this link and select “Leave the programme”. You will then have to uninstall and reinstall the app
Can I use both the beta version of the app and the regular version of the Luno app at the same time?
The previous version will still be available to customers who use Android. There will be two app icons; “Luno Beta” and “Luno Legacy”. The Luno Beta (with a “beta” sign) icon will launch automatically, and the Luno Legacy (with our standard logo) will launch the regular app.
For iOS users who would like to use the regular version of the app, you’ll need to delete the beta version and then download the regular version from the App Store.
Will I lose any data if I switch over to the beta version?
Switching to the beta version is the same as a typical update, so you won’t lose any data or your settings.
Can anyone become a beta tester?
This new beta version is only available to signed-up customers.
Will the beta work as normal?
The updates that you’ll receive as a part of this programme are pre-release versions, meaning that they may contain errors and defects that could affect your normal Luno experience. Keep your app up-to-date as newer versions usually fix minor bugs.
I don’t have a Luno account, can I still download the beta app?
Yes, but you’ll need to create a Luno account first using the current website or apps. Once you have an account follow the steps above.
We hope you enjoy being a Luno co-pilot through our beta programme. If you have any thoughts about your experience using Luno Beta, simply use #LunoLaunch on Twitter and tell us the good, the bad and the buggy — we want to hear it all!
