NetProphet: Michael Jordaan & Marcus Swanepoel

Below is an interview with Michael Jordaan and our CEO, Marcus Swanepoel, conducted by Kieno Kammies at NetProphet 2016.

They discuss the the evolution of banking, the future of finance, Bitcoin and making the move from “suit to startup”.

Michael Jordaan was appointed head of FNB by the age of 36 and spent his next decade helping FNB to be the most digitally savvy financial brand in South Africa. With Montegray, he’s turned his hand to venture capital, investing in promising innovative small businesses.

Marcus Swanepoel is co-founder and CEO of Luno, a universal Bitcoin platform that provides highly secure mobile wallets, institutional quality exchanges, and various API’s for merchant and other business integration. Before co-founding Luno, Marcus worked in investment banking, private equity and retail banking with 3i and Morgan Stanley in London, and Standard Chartered in Singapore and Johannesburg. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and CFA charter holder.
