The story
The US restaurant chain Chipotle is now accepting digital currency as a payment method nationwide, using digital currency provider Flexa. Chipotle will accept all 98 cryptocurrencies supported by Flexa, including Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Chainlink (LINK), Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTE), Uniswap (UNI), and seven stablecoins including USD Coin (USDC).
To celebrate this partnership Flexa is offering 10% off purchases made nationwide at Chipotle when using any digital currency in a Flexa-enabled app. Flexa announced the partnership yesterday on Twitter.
Despite market volatility, there is growing interest in cryptocurrency in the US. Studies have shown that one in five American participants had invested, traded or used cryptocurrency. And according to the Global State of Crypto 2022 report, 23% of Americans felt that cryptocurrency is the future of money.
Companies in the US aim to capture the growing interest in crypto, by offering alternative payment solutions. Chipotle is Flexa‘s latest partner, joining other large businesses such as Nordstrom, Barnes & Noble, Lowe’s, GameStop and Whole Foods.
