The story

According to a press release covering the announcement, recruitment efforts will focus on developing augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technology. In addition, 5G networks will be adapted to make the metaverse accessible on the go and to a wider audience.

Hamdan bin Mohammed said that “The metaverse is a promising digital world. We aim to harness this technology to enhance the quality of life in the UAE and across the globe,” 

The prince also announced a new event called the “Dubai Metaverse Assembly” which will aim to bring metaverse experts together to “educate, inspire, contribute” to the metaverse.
