Avalanche was built by a research team at Cornell University, led by well-known computer scientist Emin Gün Sirer. 

Avalanche promises a cheaper, faster and more scalable network than its peers.

The ultimate goal of Avalanche is to build a platform that hosts all of the world’s digitised assets.
